Erik Seidel: One of the World's Best Poker Pros
Perhaps, all poker fans know who Erik Seidel is because he is one of the most famous poker professionals in the world. Well, it is also possible that some people who are not passionate about the game recognize this man because one of his games, wherein he lost, was featured in the motion picture "Rounders."
Born in New York City, Erik Seidel first became interested in playing backgammon professionally. He was one of the most competitive backgammon players when he decided to be a little inactive in playing in order to concentrate of his venture into the stock market. But gambling must really be his passion because he decided to start participating in live gambling tournaments once again. Until one day, in the middle of a backgammon tournament, he thought of trying his luck in playing poker. He also realized that it was not a bad game after all because no matter how unprepared he was, he still emerged as a runner up to poker professional Johnny Chan. Such game was an event of the World Series of Poker in 1998.
Erik Seidel is one of those poker professionals who have earned a lot from live poker tournaments with more than US$7,000,000 in accumulated prize winnings. This does not come as a surprise anymore because with his victories in the World Series of Poker alone, one would already know that this poker professional definitely deserves to earn as much as he has already earned.
Between 1992 and 2007, Erik Seidel had already been awarded eight bracelets by the World Series of Poker.
